


It is my second favorite novel from this author. “Grace costs you nothing.” Is such a simple concept that I really think should resonate with more people in these current times of pandemic. The thing I love about this particular author and her books especially the more recent ones is that there is always an internal lesson deep within the story. Neil is so frustrating and so well written as the “new kind of villain” his complexity is very easy to read and look out for in the world. This is the type of book I think a lot of women should read in this new era of “women’s movement” because it shows such empowering strength in both situations of domestic abuse. You want so badly for them to work even when the odds are stacked so highly against them. Both Alexis and Daniel are extremely endearing and heartbreaking to read. It has all the beautiful quirkiness without being super artificial or cheesy. I’ve been reading a lot of mysteries and serious books lately and a I need this brain candy.
